Welcome Visitors!

Schedule your Discovery Call to get started!
First Time Clients
Discovery Call | 15 mins - Complimentary
Most everyone wants a chance to talk to a professional before committing to doing business with them. As a one woman show this can usually end up in a game of phone tag. By scheduling the Discovery Call, we can skip that headache and go straight to answering your questions.
On this call we'll review your goals, some of the challenges that are holding you back, and review what equipment you have at your disposal. If it looks like a good fit we'll get your consultation scheduled so you can get started!
Initial Consultation | 30 mins - $15
We covered the basics of your goals and verified we should be a good fit on your Discovery Call. Here we are moving on to establishing more details regarding your current condition. We'll cover assessments for posture, range of motion, strength, and balance.
The information uncovered will give us a starting point and direct us toward an initial plan of action. This will incorporate your own ability to stick to a new routine and how much you're willing to commit to. If you are currently in pain this can be scheduled with your initial massage, if you are more interested in getting started with fitness this can be done at the Spa Athletic Club (complimentary for current members)

What You Can Expect From a Massage
Most people are familiar with the typical massage setup you'll find at most any spa or studio. However, I like to offer people options and tailor the massage to fit you, rather than fit you to an industry norm. To help you get relief from chronic pain, I combine relaxing the nervous system with releasing restrictions and/or adhesions that are causing problems for the muscles and fascia.
I combine a gentle approach to deep tissue and trigger point release, stretching, heat, and cupping. While each massage will be similar, it will vary from person to person and even visit to visit based on what you need at the time.
While it is common to recieve massage while undressed, I focus on pain management and prevention; this means things are a little more active. I will regularly be moving arms, legs, or even have you assist in positioning your torso so we can shorten a muscle and get it to relax for us. This allows the massage to be less painful/intense and also works better to re-write habits of the nervous system and train new patterns in the muscles. Between stretches and body positioning it's easiest if you wear loose fitting or stretchy athletic clothes. We only need to expose skin if it's determined cupping would be beneficial.
It's hard to relax when you're lying flat on a table; instead I use specialty cushions to support the natural curves of the body. Especially when people are actively dealing with neck or back pain, this can simply be too much for them. The cushions have cutouts under the belly and chest to keep our weight off of the soft tissues, allowing our ribs and pelvis to hold the weight. If you have difficulty rolling over, the cutouts allow me to work with you face up and still reach the entirety of your back, or support you fully lying on your side (looking at you pregnant ladies).
You can also expect questions along the way as I check-in on how you're doing during the massage. As a massage therapist, I can feel where the knots are, but I can't feel how they effect you. Therapeutic massage can frequently be uncomfortable as we work on problematic areas, but we shouldn't cause outright pain. Please keep me informed of your experience, it only improves the massage.
What to Expect From Fitness Training
My coaching programs are generally not designed to help you lose weight. They can certainly help support that goal but weightloss happens in the kitchen. Fitness is much better at improving our physical and mental health; supporting our longevity. After our intial assessment I'll have an understanding of your starting capacity. This helps us tailor your workouts to prevent injury and maintain steady progress.
I like to use freeweights (dumbbells, kettlebells), resistance bands, and body weight exercise to train strength into not just the prime movers, but also those stabilizing muscles deep around the joints and the core. As you gain confidence we incorporate larger movements to recruit the whole body and start using unstable surfaces (Bosu, Swiss Ball). This, combined with attention to good form, drives good nuerological connection with the body. This connection is the foundation of good coordination and balance.
Exercise is an important component of a massage care plan. Muscular tension can be a response from our nervous system to postural imbalances. While massage can loosen this tension, there is underlying musclular weakness that needs to be addressed. We can work in person at the gym, or we can discuss remote coaching and how to plan out a home fitness space.
